This 43 mm Field Automatic comes with either a black or silver dial on a smooth buffalo leather strap (in black or dark brown, depending on the model) with bold cord contrast stitching. This series has black textured dial centers, sapphire crystals and case backs to view the movement. The more rounded case design separates this series from the Luminox quartz field series.

The Field Automatic is water resistant to 10 ATM (100 meters), and of course features the proprietary Luminox Light Technology (LLT).

Luminox timepieces are manufactured like few others. The proprietary Luminox Light Technology and the additional quality control steps Luminox ( Luminox history) mandates require extraordinary attention to detail and care in manufacturing. All Luminox watches are Swiss made in the brand’s state-of-the art factory in Biberist, Switzerland, but this series undergoes additional rigorous testing at an off site facility also.

Each watch employs tiny self-powered micro gas lights developed by the world leader in the luminous compound industry. These micro gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules) are installed into the hands, hour markers, and when necessary, bezels of our watches. Luminox watches need no external light source to "charge" the paint on the dial or hands in order to glow as do conventional luminous watches. Nor do they require the push of a button to light the dial as do watches with electroluminescence. The U.S. military has long recognized the advantages of micro gas light sources and their use is specified in procurement specification MIL-W-46374F.
