About Richard Thalheimer

Richard Thalheimer is the founder and former CEO of The Sharper Image, and creator of RichardSolo.com.

Richard broke into the world of merchandising when he began selling office supplies part-time as a college student. He named his business The Sharper Image as a reverence to the quality of his copy machines. Richard Thalheimer practiced law briefly, but gave it up after realizing that his true passion was merchandising. Devoting all his time to The Sharper Image, the company quickly began to form as the specialty retail giant that we know it as today - selling electronics and other gadgets.

After his departure from The Sharper Image, Richard Thalheimer launched RichardSolo.com, an online store of interesting and new products that puts customer satisfaction as its first priority.

Richard Thalheimer serves on the Board of Trustees of the San Francisco Ballet. While he has a number of outside interests, he particularly enjoys piloting his Cessna 182, and recently purchased a small Winnebago motorhome. He has three children and greatly values time with his family.
