If you had to choose one word to describe Vers, it would have to be "Natural." Natural — as in the quality of sound and the use of real wood, crafted and finished by hand. Natural as in the selection of sustainable materials and efficient components.

Natural, however, doesn't come easy. The hand craftsmanship required to create a Vers system takes time — more than a week to build one cabinet. There are plenty of ways to build a sound system faster, but few better. There's a reason why many musical instruments are still made of wood, nothing sounds as warm, as rich — or as natural.

Wood vs. Plastic The wood used in Vers displaces 80% of what otherwise would have been plastic. When chosen from carefully managed plantation sources, wood can be a very sustainable, renewable material.

The WHOLE Tree The core material of a Vers enclosure is a wood composite made from a combination of eucalyptus and pine — two species that grow fast and mature quickly. The WHOLE tree is used: trunk, roots, branches and twigs and the trees themselves are plantation-grown, meaning once they're harvested, they're replanted.

Screws vs. Glue All Vers systems are assembled with screws, not adhesives or impossible-to-disassemble snap features. This allows a unit to be easily broken down into component materials when the time comes.

Marked for Life The name of the material used for each plastic part is molded into the back of the part to aid in future recycling. It doesn't cost anything, but you have to ask for it.

Recycled Packaging Simply having recyclable packaging isn't enough — you need to start with recycled materials where possible. All paper material used in our packaging is both 100% recycled AND 100% recyclable.

Pulp Fact Paper pulp trays made from 100% recycled paper material provide the same protection as foam packaging — and they reduce package volume by around 10%. Since they take up less space, smaller packages require less energy to transport.

Class D Amplifier A class D amplifier is 80% more efficient as other amplifier types, meaning it uses about half the power to produce the same sound volume. Class D amplifiers generate less heat, too.

RoHS Compliant The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive was authored in an effort to remove lead, mercury, cadmium and several other hazardous materials from the waste stream. Though not required by law, all Vers products are RoHS compliant.
